Description

I’ve left the size of this image rather large. These are mag. 13.7 distorted galaxies near Arcturus in Bootes. North is to the right.  NGC5655 is upper of the two galaxies. It appears to have a nucleus folded in half.  The other galaxy to its lower right is NGC5648, and is a distorted spiral.  It is not supposed to have a nucleus, but I seem to have picked one up anyway.  Incidentally, the small galaxy above the bright yellow star toward the lower left is PGC1443080 and is mag 16.8,
Data collected automatically with CCDAutoPilot 2.53.  15 min. unbinned, NIR blocked Luminance exposures.  10 min binned RGB exposures.  Calibrated, registered and combined in CCDStack.  RGB upsized and registered with L in Registar.  Final processing in Photoshop CS.
